Before diving into the rear brakes I decided to install the master cylinder. First the power brake booster. I could not find a new boot for the booster so I sort-of-fixed the old one with electrical tape. That worked just about as well as you might expect.
Getting the pedal linkage hooked up was a huge pain because there is no room to work. But it went together. I also hooked up the vacuum line from the intake manifold.
Time to bleed the master cylinder. The rebuilt cylinder came with plugs for this.
I am going with silicone brake fluid. My first time using it.
To bleed operate the piston until bubbles stop coming out. I could feel the piston get hard as the air was worked out.
Master installed. I left the plugs in until the brake lines in back are finished.
